If you like Cornwall, camping, sea views, chickens and random people you’ll love this bit of lingering goodness. I’m talking about Henry’s campsite that has all of the above… and more. This quirky family run campsite has been around forever, like from ‘before the Second World War’ – forever. That was when Henry was still the boss. Now it’s his son and his wife.
At Henry’s you can:
Pitch your tent and enjoy the sun setting over the Lizard peninsula.
You can wake up to chickens and chicks wanting to come in to your tent (and a whole host of other animals chatting nearby)
Eat fresh eggs for breakfast (made with love by the above chickens)
Pick blackberries from the bushes on the path that leads to the beach (eventually… it was a bit longer than we anticipated – so close yet so far!)
When the darkness falls get your head torch out (yes, I always sport a good head torch!) and walk to the nearby pub for a local brew
Soak your feet in the cool sea water and forget everything else!
I totally recommend Henry’s for everyone who loves a bit of adventure. Like their website says, it is Strange but Wonderful! The facilities might not be 5star but the atmosphere is great and who wouldn’t want to wake up to a sea view?!

Looks lovely! I am planning a trip to Cornwall this summer. Can you have campfires at Henry’s?
